High Dose Vitamin C
Vitamin C in high doses has been studied as a cancer treatment since the 1970s. It is a powerful antioxidant and when taken by IV (intravenous) infusion, vitamin C can reach much higher blood levels when compared to when it is taken orally (by mouth). Laboratory studies have shown slowed growth and spread of colon, liver, pancreatic, and prostate cancer cells with high doses of vitamin C. Other high-dose vitamin C studies in cancer patients have shown not only improvements in symptoms from chemotherapy (fatigue, nausea, vomiting, appetite loss) but improved physical, mental, and emotional functions and quality of life as well.
